Amount / how it works

Sales tax exemption (avoids Florida's state sales tax rate) on qualifying, separately itemised solar and storage equipment.

Under Florida Statute 212.08(7)(hh), solar collectors, PV modules, inverters and energy storage units are exempt from Florida's state sales tax, provided the equipment is FSEC (Florida Solar Energy Center) certified and separately itemised on the sale invoice. There is no state-level cash rebate program in Florida beyond this and the property tax exemption above — check with your installer that exempt items are itemised correctly to receive this automatically.

Eligibility

Equipment must be FSEC-certified and separately itemised on the invoice.

How to apply

Applied automatically at point of sale by the installer/retailer — no separate application.
