About IceWarm
IceWarm is an independent content hub for homeowners switching their homes over to electric — heat pumps, solar, batteries, EV charging, and the rebates that make it all cheaper than it looks. The name is literal: a heat pump is a machine that moves heat between a cold side and a warm side using the same refrigeration cycle as your fridge, just run to heat and cool a house instead of a box of leftovers. That’s the flagship technology we cover, and it’s the reason we picked the name.
We write for homeowners in Australia and the USA — two markets with very different rebate programs, standards bodies and climates, which is why almost everything on this site is tagged by region. A heat pump buyer’s guide for Melbourne and one for Minneapolis are not the same article, and we don’t pretend they are.

How we review
Every product write-up is clearly marked as either Tested (the team has installed, run or monitored the unit, and the page names who) or Research-based (we haven’t had hands-on time with it yet, and we say so). We don’t invent specific performance numbers — COP, HSPF, kWh capacity — that weren’t supplied by the manufacturer or verified independently. Full methodology is on our editorial standards page.
How we make money
IceWarm is supported by display advertising and affiliate commissions. Editorial independence

Rebate details are re-verified against the original government or utility source on a rolling basis; we flag anything we haven’t re-checked recently rather than let it go stale silently.
