IceWarm is an independent home-energy publication. We make money in two ways — affiliate commissions and display advertising — and this page explains how each works so you can read our coverage with full context.

Affiliate commissions

Many of the product links on IceWarm are affiliate links. If you click one and make a purchase, the retailer pays us a small percentage of the sale. It costs you nothing extra, and it’s the same price you’d pay going to the retailer directly.

IceWarm is a participant in the Amazon Services LLC Associates Program, an affiliate advertising program designed to provide a means for sites to earn advertising fees by advertising and linking to Amazon (amazon.com.au and amazon.com, depending on your market). We also participate in a small number of affiliate programs with selected retailers, directly and via affiliate networks.

Display ads

We display ads served by Google AdSense (and, in time, other premium ad networks). These ads are personalised based on your consent preferences — see our cookie policy for the full story. Advertisers have no influence over our editorial content.

How this affects what we recommend

It doesn’t. Commission rates and partnerships never factor into whether a product is featured or how we rate it. If we recommend something, it’s because we’ve either tested/installed it ourselves or done the research and believe it’s the best option at its price and for its climate.

When a product was provided on loan by a brand or distributor for testing, we say so on the product page. We do not accept payment for positive reviews, and we never invent a specific rebate dollar amount or performance figure to make a product look better.
