Amount / how it works

Not a cash rebate — 100% property tax exemption on the added assessed value from a qualifying residential solar or battery storage install.

Under Florida Statute 193.624, the increase in a home's assessed value attributable to an installed renewable energy device, explicitly including battery/energy storage devices, is 100% exempt from property tax for residential installs after 1 January 2013 (80% exempt for non-residential installs after 1 January 2018). The relevant subsections are currently set to sunset 31 December 2037, reverting rather than being eliminated before then.

Eligibility

Residential property with an installed solar or battery storage device in Florida.

How to apply

Applies through your county property appraiser's office — no separate state application.
